The 28-year-old grandson of Raj Kapoor refuses to get overwhelmed by an avalanche of congratulatory messages for his standout performance in the movie that portrays the transformation of Delhi youth Janardan Jhakar, or JJ, into world famous rock star Jordan.
With less than 10 films as lead actor under his belt since his debut in 2007 with Saawariya, Kapoor has reached where few stars had at his age. Industry insiders estimate that he charges a fee of more than Rs 10 crore for a film and gets a share of its revenues. This is comparable with what top stars such as the three Khans - Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn command.
The young actor has established himself in the brand endorsement circuit also. His love for football came into light recently when Spanish club FC Barcelona signed him as the Indian Brand Ambassador.
