It is in news today that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was admitted to Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai on Monday for the birth of her baby, has given birth to a baby girl today, 16-Nov-2011. The 38-year-old actress developed labour pains around 4 am and was rushed to the labour room where the delivery took place after nearly six hours, a few minutes before 10 a.m.
Much before the child make entry in the world, Bachchan family had started the speculation and preparations. It was rumored that though Aishwarya's due date was on November 14th (children's day), the Bachchan bahu would have undergo surgery to ensure that her child will born on November 11, 2011... 11.11.11. Bachchans' had booked a seven star suit for their Aishwarya in Seven Hills Hospital from 10th to 16th November 2011.
Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai got married on April 20, 2007. The much publicized wedding took place at Prateeksha, the Bachchan residence in suburban Juhu. The news of Ash's pregnancy was broken by Amitabh Bachchan through Twitter in June this year. The Bachchan family is ecstatic about the birth of Abhishek and Aishwarya's first child. As soon as the baby was born, Abhishek tweeted: "IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! :-)))))", while his father, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, shared his excitement on becoming a grandfather, "I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl, A dada ji ... Ecstatic". The news had received a lot of national and international coverage. However, a 10-point advisory was issued to TV channel heads by the Broadcasting Editor's Association (BEA) to curtailed the electronic news coverage regarding the high-profile childbirth!!

Despite the palpable excitement over Aishwarya's pregnancy, there were a few controversies. Post her marriage, there were rumours of Aishwarya suffering from stomach tuberculosis, which was preventing her from getting pregnant. Aishwarya announced plans of withdrawing from Madhur Bhandarkar's "Heroine" in June 2011 as soon as Big B announced in June that Ash is expecting.
